Blue Diamond Machinery is proud to supply Erben’s Cirque Duet Development with access to low-carbon power access to clean, low-carbon power through our commercial-grade 500kW battery energy storage system (BESS).

Currently in its final stage of construction, Cirque Duet is set to become the first residential development in Australia to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating — a milestone made possible in part by Blue Diamond’s diesel-free power solution.

Designed specifically for construction environments, the BESS unit provides a quiet, emissions-free alternative to diesel generators — in this case, powering the site’s tower cranes. Luke noted its strong performance and the noticeable improvements to site conditions.

“[The BESS unit] eliminates diesel and significantly reduces the emissions created during the construction phase...[and] cancels out the noise and exhaust that residents would otherwise be subjected to...” said Reinecke.

Using lithium-ion battery technology, the system delivers a carbon footprint 70-90% lower than a diesel generator. It is estimated to reduce carbon emissions on the Cirque Duet development by nearly 12 tonnes per month – an equivalent saving of 7,000 litres of diesel per month.
