Blue Diamond Machinery Hosts GEH2 Electro-Hydrogen Generator Overview in Melbourne Facility
15th Aug 2022
Last week, Blue Diamond Machinery conducted a comprehensive product overview of their newest addition of Net Zero equipment to hit the Australian market, the GEH2® Electro-Hydrogen Generator, at their Melbourne Facility.
The GEH2 is a zero emission, H2 fuelled 100kVa Hydrogen generator utilising state of the art hybrid technology to combine a Toyota Fuel Cell and Battery Energy Storage System. The result is instant, clean, and quiet power.
Members from Kennards Hire Senior Power Division came to witness and familiarise themselves with BDM’s GEH2® Electro-Hydrogen Generator as part of a standardised compliance measure. The success of the operational overview came from the help of the BDM and Toyota’s expert team.
To complete the overview, BDM secured a “man pack”, an industrial grade hydrogen cylinder pack of grey hydrogen from local Melbourne gas distributor BOC. The hydrogen bottles were fitted externally to the generator with a separate line to the storage of the hydrogen.
Despite being unavailable in the country, BDM Director, Justin Pitts says that green hydrogen is the ultimate goal due to its production from renewable energy rather than fossil fuels. When utilising green hydrogen, the GEH2® will unlock the potential of better, cleaner power.
In this case, the GEH2® Generator will produce 100% emission free from production: from the production of the hydrogen to outputting power from the unit. While green hydrogen is harder to secure, according to Justin, it will become more readily available in the coming months locally in Australia as more plants come online and investment grows.
Among the Kennards Hire team were long standing client and construction machinery and equipment supplier Tutt Bryant. Representatives from Skybridge, a service solution supplier, and Ausnet, Victoria’s leading energy suppliers also came along to witness the overview.
As the first-time purchase of two EODev GEH2® Electro-Hydrogen Generators, Kennards Hire is taking action to ensure the supply of green energy sources to meet growing consumer demands. Kennards Hire decision to implement greener solutions into their fleet will mark the first of many traditional players in the rental and hire companies looking to provide sustainable solution options.
There is already an expression of interest from major customers of Kennards Hire to integrate the GEH2® unit into upcoming construction projects in Melbourne.
