Haven't used it for a long period as yet but hooked her up to the window rattler in our bedroom and our huge 2 door fridge freezer and ran them both with ease so will do the trick for us with the up coming cyclone season
The hornet is very well constructed and very definitely would recommend it

Great Product. Does everything it's meant to do. Great starter and quiet running. What more can I say.
Great product but doesn't come with oil
Posted by David Lewis on 9th Sep 2016
Great product worked well, but website should tell you that you also need to buy the engine oil for it & fill it before you can use it. Would be nice if you included a bottle of oil as I had to make an emergency purchase of the oil which cost as much in postage as the oil.
Apart from that it's a great buy
Use it for my batteries

Absolutely perfect for keeping the leisure battery on my caravan topped up whilst "off grid". Would recommend this to anybody who needs portable power for this type of use. Extremely quiet and very frugal. Excellent.
A good low price Genetator

Seems to work well and is reasonably quiet
Very Good Petrol Economy

Panic on its first outing in that it ran perfectly for 30 minutes then started spluttering, then violent shaking, then cut out!! My fault, didn't turn the breather valve to 'ON' so the vacuum caused fuel starvation. Other than that, has performed well. Low noise, stable power - even on 'Eco' with a variable load. You just forget it's there. The only gripe is that a fuel gauge would be useful, but after 5 hours use it still had plenty of fuel in.
Good build and reasonable priced.

I recently took delivery of this Generator and delivered to my door in the Gold Coast in 4 days and it works and ticks all the boxes. I needed a small generator as a back up for the boat and I looked at both the Honda and the Yamaha which are both highly rated as best in class the only niggle was the point in price just over $2k. For the amount of use involved per season I couldn't really justify it. I looked elsewhere and this Hornet came up. The thing that drew me was the fact that it's lighter than the Yamaha EF2400 Generator, the difference being the rest of the actual build is all made and packaged in China which comes on in at over half the price. I was a little sceptical when I ordered it (buy cheap buy twice) but factored in if lasts a few years and packs up I can still get another for the price of the one so I took a punt and ordered one for $870 delivered.
When it arrived it was well packaged and was generally impressed with the build quality and the general feel of the unit, it didn't feel or look cheap. filled it up with oil put added some petrol in turned the fuel on and was up and running with the first pull of the cord. The engine runs quiet on Eco mode and is reasonable under load compared with a lot of other Generators it's quiet. I hooked it up to the shore power on the boat and ran 1500 watt hair dryer, 8x 40watt light bulbs and the small tv to see if it could take the load and all worked ok.. As for longevity only time will tell however it does come with a year warranty and the engine being like a Yamaha it should prove to be reliable. The only way to improve this would be to have a key start.
All in all from a price point of view if your after a Suitcase 2kw Generator this thing works well is quiet and is half the price of the Japanese.

Brilliant generator lighter and quieter than i expected. Meets my caravan leisure and emergency domestic requirements. engines really quiet compared to other generators, even some are three times the price.
